Description
Delicious taco chicken served in warm taco shells.
Ingredients
Scale
- ¼ cup water
- 1 ounce packet taco seasoning mix
- 2 cans tomato sauce (8 ounces each)
- 2 teaspoons white distilled vinegar
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons ground oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon white sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 pounds skinless (boneless chicken breasts)
- 8 taco shells (warmed)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chicken breasts and sear until lightly golden on both sides.
- Pour in tomato sauce, water, taco seasoning, vinegar, garlic, cumin, oregano, and sugar.
- Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 20–25 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Remove chicken and shred using two forks.
- Return shredded chicken to the pan and mix into the sauce.
- Spoon into warm taco shells and serve with your favorite toppings.

- Serve with toppings such as lettuce, cheese, and salsa.
