Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup favorite jam (raspberry or strawberry recommended)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water with sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Gradually mix in flour and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and spread it into a greased baking pan, making dimples with your fingers.
  6. Spoon dollops of jam into the dimples.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
