Description
This delicious baked ziti is layered with ground beef, marinara sauce, and two kinds of cheese for a hearty meal.

- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and ground beef; cook until browned.
- Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked ziti with ricotta cheese and half the mozzarella. Layer in the baking dish.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
