- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until creamy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown while the centers remain soft.
- Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let them cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For best results, use room temperature butter.
- Store cookies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
