Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken thighs or wings
  • 1½ cups BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
  3. Place the chicken in the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over it.
  4. Cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  5. Remove the lid during the last 30 minutes if you want a thicker sauce.
  6. Optional: Broil the cooked chicken for 3–4 minutes for caramelized edges.
  7. Serve topped with chopped chives.
