Description

This delicious banana bread is moist and flavorful, perfect for breakfast or a snack!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled; 1 stick)
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (about 3 large)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray. (I use classic Pam.)
  2. Add the melted butter, mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla to a large bowl. Stir to combine.
  3. Stir in the flours, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula so it’s even.
  5. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until golden brown and a cake tester inserted into the center comes out cleanly.
  6. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove from pan (carefully) and let cool on a wire rack completely.
  7. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • This banana bread can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for several days.
  • Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for an extra treat!
