A delicious cherry pie made with fresh cherries and a flaky crust.

- 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix cherries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice until well combined.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the cherry mixture evenly into the crust.
- Roll out the second crust and cover the filling, crimping the edges to seal.
- Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
Notes
- For a sweeter pie, adjust the sugar according to taste.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
