Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix cherries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice until well combined.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the cherry mixture evenly into the crust.
  4. Roll out the second crust and cover the filling, crimping the edges to seal.
  5. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
