Description
Delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies with a rich flavor and soft texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then add the vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or a spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. The cookies should appear set but slightly soft in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of sea salt on top of the cookies before baking.
- If you prefer a chewier cookie, underbake them slightly.
