A hearty and flavorful chili made with ground beef, beans, and spices.
Ingredients

- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 onion (diced)
- 1 green bell pepper (diced)
- 1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes (with juices)
- 14 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1½ tablespoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Brown beef in a large pot over medium high-heat with garlic and onion. Cook until no pink remains and drain the fat.
- Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, turn down to a simmer and cook uncovered for 45-55 minutes or until it thickens.
Notes
- This chili can be served with cornbread or over rice for a complete meal.
- Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more chili powder or diced jalapeños.
